WHATSNEW.DOC Inventory Organizer System Ver 1.03
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrading from Version 1.01 to Version 1.02:
-------------------------------------------
1. Make a back-up copy of your current "IOS" sub-directory on your
hard disk.
2. Copy all files from diskette that contains "IOS Version 1.02"
to your current IOS sub-directory on the hard disk.
3. Execute "IOS"
IOS will convert your OLD inventory file to the NEW format
automatically for you!!! What does that mean? Well, IOS
now has 2 additional fields in the inventory file so all
your data must be copied into an EXPANDED inventory file.
You should have noticed when you executed IOS version 1.02
for the 1st time that a message appeared (and your disk
was very active) informing you that the Inventory file was
being expanded.
Congratulations! Wasn't that easy! Now read-on and see
whats new in IOS.
Version 1.02 Additions:
----------------------
1. Two fields have been added to the Item Masterfile:
(1) Misc_Value - This field was added to allow users to
record an Appreciated Value for some
items, such as Coins, Antiques, Paintings,
or any item that appreciates in value.
This is an optional field, but could be
used for anything you wish.
(2) Misc_Date - This field allows you to record the date
of the above appreciated value. This
field is optional, but could be used for
any date that you wish.
2. When Adding or Changing an inventory item and you press the insert
key, the cursor size will change. This should eliminate some
confusion as to when the insert is on or off.
3. Main Menu pulldown "REPORTING" now has 2 new options:
(1) Inventory Summary
-----------------
This option will quickly summarize by Category, Location,
or VCR Tape ID, the Total Purchases, Total Misc Values,
and Total Qty fields.
(2) Detail Item List
----------------
This option will print ALL fields for each inventory item
chosen to be included in the report. This allows you to
get a detail listing of each item on your inventory file.
The report can be sequenced in 1 of 3 ways:
(1) Category, (2) Location, or (3) VCR Tape ID / Counter.
An option for record selection allows you to selcect ALL
items, create a selection criteria, or tag the records you
wish to included in the report. At the end of the report
Grand Totals of Purchases, Misc Values, and number of
items printed is included.
Version 1.03 Additions:
----------------------
1. Main Menu pulldown "REPORTING" now has 1 new option:
(1) Warranty Report
---------------
This report will list all items with an expiration date
that has not arrived yet (or NOT expired). This report
can be sent to: (1) Screen, (2) Printer, (3) Disk text
file. The number of days left before the item reaches
the expiration date will also be listed.
